Melissa Brennan, CFP®
Financial Planner
Melissa Brennan began her professional career as a high school social studies teacher with a love for economics. She transitioned into banking and then into financial counseling which ultimately led to a career in financial planning earning her Certified Financial Planner’s designation in 2001. She also holds series 7 and series 66 licenses.

Melissa has been an active member of the Financial Planning Association for almost 20 years. She currently serves on the Dallas Ft. Worth chapter’s board of directors. She has been recognized by her peers in the financial planning community as one of D Magazine’s Best Financial Planners in 2019.
Melissa has been in the business long enough to guide clients through steady and robust expansions and two recessions – the dot com meltdown of 2001 and subsequent recession, which severely impacted the North Texas Telecom Corridor, and the Great Recession of 2008-2009 which was felt worldwide. She knows the importance of not only having a good financial plan but also working and monitoring that plan.

Melissa lives in Plano, Texas with her husband Bob and their teenagers, Aidan and Abigail. A core value in the Brennan family is encouraging the struggling in their community which they do through regular support of local nonprofits including the North Texas Food Bank and Bed Start, a ministry of Custer Road UMC that provides beds and furniture to families in the Head Start program. The Brennan’s also partner with nurses in the school district to discreetly provide undergarments to children in need.
